Day Habilitation Services
Shore's day habilitation services are unique, interesting, varied, and suitable for every person who wants to participate. A full complement of experienced professionals (nurses, occupational, physical, speech therapists and psychologists) work closely with Shore Case Managers and Direct Service Staff to recommend goals that are worthwhile and interesting to individuals.
While curricula areas may be fairly standard across day habilitation programs, the ways in which they get addressed are not. At Shore, people may be addressing a sensorimotor goal by increasing their walking distance, reaching for preferred objects, or joining a yoga group. People may be working on social skills while at Shore or while volunteering their time at a nursing home or recycling center in their communities.
Some people appreciate the supports offered by the day habilitation program for their complete day at Shore. Others split their time between day habilitation activities and vocational services so they get the best of both worlds.
All Shore program locations offer day habilitation services which are funded by the individual’s Mass Health Insurance coverage.
At Shore, as obstacles vanish, opportunities appear...
